Become a Member of the Nichols House Museum!Dear Friend, We are delighted that you have chosen to attend one of our events or tours in the past. Now we want to extend an invitation to enjoy our future programs by initiating a membership in the Nichols House Museum. A full schedule of activities for members has been planned for 2009. Our ever popular Spring Fête is scheduled for June 4 in the elegant surroundings of The Boston Athenaeum. The museum's lecture series will focus on exploring the "backstory" of Beacon Hill homes – the interrelationship of servants and homeowners, and the service spaces rarely seen that were the heart of the area's well-functioning households. And, of course, our signature event the Beacon Hill Holiday House Tour will take place in December. As a member, you will receive invitations to all programs, as well as discounts on lectures, special events, and items in our gift shop. In addition, you will receive our informative newsletter, the annual report, and free admission to the museum for you and your guests. New members are invited to a special reception and tour of the Nichols House Museum, highlighting the museum's exquisite examples of American furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries and artwork collected by Nichols family members on their world travels. For more than two hundred years our historic building has stood witness to the history of Beacon Hill. Today museum visitors learn about Boston in the early twentieth century through stories about the Nichols family. By improving technology, formalizing conservation practices, and expanding programming the Nichols House Museum has become a significant historical resource in our community. Your membership will help us fulfill the museum's mission through our educational programming and conservation efforts. We look forward to your support and participation. Sincerely yours,
Christine Root Chair, Membership Committee
