Annual Appeal Web Campaign 2016
Dear valued members, visitors, and guests of the Nichols House Museum,
For over fifty years the Nichols House Museum’s Annual Fund has sustained its preservation efforts, its programs, and its place among the museums of Boston. With this letter, we thank you for being a part of our community and invite you to continue to support the Nichols House Museum’s continued growth by contributing to this year’s Annual Fund. The Annual Fund provides vital support for the museum, allowing us to offer high quality tours, programs, lectures, and special events that bring delight, intellectual stimulation and beauty to the Beacon Hill community, and visitors from around the world.
We work diligently to create meaningful, immersive experiences for our visitors by providing a rare glimpse into the domestic sensibilities of Bostonians of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Just as importantly, the house resounds with the ideas of the innovative Rose Standish Nichols, a suffragist, a pacifist, a writer, and one of America’s first landscape architects. She felt strongly about creating an interesting and welcoming environment, and we hope you have felt this intention in action during your time with us.
Thanks to the continued support of contributors like you, 2016 has shaped up to be a landmark year for the Nichols House Museum. Our exhibition and program series, revolving around the theme of women in politics, has proved to be uniquely relevant in this election year. Visitors who have taken a tour of the Nichols House, or guests who have attended one of our programs had this to say about the museum:
“I really appreciated that the home and the personal belongings were intact.”
“Enjoyed the overall tour and the guide was very good-- well informed and enthusiastic. Much appreciated the authenticity of all the furnishings from the period in which Rose lived there.”
“Enjoyed learning about a woman Landscape Designer that I was not aware of.”
“Wow. Wow. Wow.”
“Fantastic little gem.”
“Excellent insight into part of the social history of Boston.”
With your support, the Nichols House Museum will continue engaging visitors from around the world, introducing them to the rich and varied history of Boston, and the story of the Nichols family.
We appreciate your participation in supporting this Boston treasure.
Thank you for giving to this year’s Annual Appeal as generously as possible.
